AMD seems that this time it has done very well, the arrival of Ryzen has fallen like a bomb in the sector where Intel has been king for several years. Right here in Engadget we have followed the launches of the different flavors of Ryzen , as well as analysis and comparisons against Intel, where the new AMD processor has brought out the chest in an important way.

Right now on the internet we can see a wide range of analyzes, comparisons and even experiments with AMD Ryzen, but today we find a video that is attracting a lot of attention. In this video a comparison of the behavior in Photoshop of the beast of Apple, a Mac Pro, against a custom PC equipped with AMD Ryzen 1700 is made .
A battle that seemed unfair

The comparison has been made by Tech Guy, who on his YouTube channel has uploaded a video where he presents us on the one hand a Mac Pro with 8 cores at 3.0 GHz with 64 GB of RAM, all this with a current value in the 5,660 dollars market. On the other hand, we have a PC with AMD Ryzen 1700 in the same way with 8 cores at 3.0 GHz, but with 16 GB of RAM, which according to Tech Guy has a market price of $ 1,530.

The update of the PC to 64 GB in RAM to be compared with the Mac Pro would have meant an increase of $ 250 in the price, but to see the tests we will realize that they are not necessary.

The test consisted of a Photoshop Benchmark that is based on a ‘Radial Blur’ action, which was created by photographer Keith Simonian and can be downloaded here . Of course the results are more than interesting .

Tech Guy discovered that this operation in the Mac Pro would take us 15 seconds, while in the PC with Ryzen we would only need 8.8 seconds. But the most interesting thing is that when you overclock Ryzen to 3.5 GHz the time is reduced to 7.7 seconds.

“The Ryzen 1700 overclock offers us more than twice the performance of the 8 cores of the Mac Pro, which costs three times as much.”

We know that Apple has failed with the Mac Pro, even the same company has come to ask for forgiveness by promising that in 2018 we will see something, now, focused on professionals, because as we see in this basic test are not very well off .
